William R. Ratliff

KANNAPOLIS - William R. Ratliff, 83, of Kannapolis, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Aug. 29, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

William was born Jan, 25, 1930, in Ruby, S.C., to the late William Howard Ratliff and the late Ruth Gaddy Ratliff. He was a Korean War veteran serving with the U.S. Army. He worked as an electrician for a number of years before becoming an Electrical Contractor.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Ratliff; and a brother, Jeral Ratliff.

William's survivors include his son, Roger Ratliff and wife Leas; a brother, Carrol Ratliff; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Ratliff.

Service and Visitation: The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 31 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Benny Burgess. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home.
