Willie J. Turner

CLEVELAND - Willie James Turner, 75, of Rankin Road, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at his residence.

He was born April 22, 1939, in Iredell County to Elsie Mae Knox of Cleveland and the late James Calvin "J.C." Turner. Educated in public schools of Rowan County, he was a graduate of R.A. Clement High School.

He worked for General Motors and later retired from General Electric.

A member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, he served in the Men's Choir and was a advocate of Sunday School.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Odessa Everett.

He leaves to cherish loving memories his daughter, Deborah Ann Turner Yeager (Anthony), Atlanta, Ga.; mother Elsie Mae Knox of the home; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements: Services will be held Saturday, April 12 at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Eulando Henton, pastor, is officiating
