Everett Van Patten SALISBURY - Everett Havern Van Patten, 84 of Salisbury died Feb. 12, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Van Patten was born Oct. 12, 1921 in El Reno, Okla. to the late Everett Hoxie Van Patten and Patricia Patnoe Van Patten. He was educated in the Dallas, Tex. Schools and Texas Tech., Lubbock, Tex. Mr. Van Patten was an engineer with Aero Space in North America with Rockwell. Mr. Van Patten was a member of Christiana Lutheran Church. A veteran of World War II and Korea. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot. Mr. Van Patten served in New Guinea in the Asian Theater. While serving in Korea he was an operations officer. Survivors include his wife Virginia Clark Van Patten, who he married Dec. 8, 1945. Mrs. Van Patten was raised in Victoria, Tex. He also has three daughters Karen Van Patten Sellers of Salisbury, Cathryn Van Patten Gregory of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., Helen Van Patten Rudd of Wilmington, Calif.; one sister Phyllis Van Patten Bennett of Oklahoma City, Okla; grandchildren Alden, Paige, Todd, and Bevan Sellers, Cameron Cook, Jennifer Cook Vasquez, Wyatt, Trevor, Haden Gregory; great-grandchildren, Bryant and Blake Vasquez, and Joey Cook. Service: Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Christiana Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Carl Haynes, Pastor. Another memorial service will be held at a later date at King Harbor, Calif. Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
