Alma Lamont "Monte" Pratt, age 63, passed away quietly at home in the presence of his family from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) on Monday, July 21, 2014. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 4, 1951.
Monte had proudly enlisted into the U.S. Army at 17 years old and served in the Vietnam War. Monte loved working in the wholesale car business, and he wanted to thank all of the great friends that he made and worked with. More recently, he enjoyed going to estate sales and auctions and continued to be a great salesman.
In Monte's words: "I want to say thank you to all that shared their time with me, it was precious - til we meet again. I am survived by my beautiful daughter, Sophia Ann Pratt Durham (Scott), my mother: Georgia Taylor Pratt; three great sisters: Dianna Pratt Fox, Georgia Pratt Hansen (Jerry), Julie Pratt Hampton (Kent); and my brother: Randy Taylor; my stepmom: Sarah Norma Pratt; and many great nieces and nephews.
Monte was preceded in death by his father Alma Ernest "Ernie" Pratt, and his brother John Anthony Pratt.
At Monte's request, his body will be donated to the U of U Hospital for research.
Special thanks go sincerely to family friend Lori Sundquist, all of his doctors at the ALS Department of the U of U Hospital, and to all of the staff at Caregiver Support Network.
