Blaine Robert Hale Obituary
Blaine Robert Hale "BR"
In Loving Memory
Blaine Robert Hale, "BR" 80, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on July 17, 2013.
BR was born on 18 August 1932, to William Riley Hale and Sarah Rydalch Hale. He grew up in Grantsville, Utah and was Student Body President of the Grantsville High Cowboys. He was a great athlete and received honors for his talents. He later attended Utah State University where he played football.
"Doc Hale" served his country as a Navy medical corpsman during the Korean War. It was during a leave that he married his sweetheart, Karma Rae Aldous, from Tooele, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. Karma succumbed to cancer at age 34.
BR and Karma Hale were blessed with eight children: Scott Hale (Pam), Patti Knibbe (David), Cindy Hansen (Chris), Christie Howes (the late Michael), Kit Hale (Yvette), Kelly Hale (Diane), Kevin Hale (Carol), and Shari Young (Steve).
BR later married Yvonne Despain and she brought two children into the marriage, Jon Holbrook (Christine) and Sue Heath (John). BR also survived Yvonne, who passed away on December 19th 2000.
BR made his living as a plumbing contractor and was President of UMCA. He enjoyed ranching, watching sports, and was a special fan of BYU football and soccer. He especially treasured family activities. In his later years, his constant companion was his dog, Indy.
He is survived by; wife Sharon Fogg Hale, 49 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 10 siblings and survived by his baby sister Kathryn Read (Taylorsville). We anticipate the time when we will be reunited with Dad and Mom and our other loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am in the LDS Church located at 12681 So. 3600 W. where friends may call an hour and a half prior to services. Interment in the Grantsville Cemetery.
