Boyd B. Rhea Sr. Obituary
9-23-1924 ~ 4-18-2014
We lost our "Hero" April 18, 2014. We will miss the glue that held our family together, but find great comfort in knowing he was reunited with our mom, the woman that "loved him to the moon and back" Joyce.
He was born September 23, 1924 in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of Robert H Rhea and Thelma Parker Rhea. He married Joyce Moedl on September 3, 1947. Dad played Minor League Baseball until he heard the roar of the race car engines. He was well known in the racing community and was honored with many best mechanic and driving awards. He was very proud of his service in the US Navy during WWII.
Dad is survived by us, Vicki, Kathy (Frank) LeFevre, Carol (Larry) Cook, Debbie (Bert) Taylor, Boyd Jr (Luann) Rhea; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and Sister Gerry Drage. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 66 years Joyce, son in laws Squirrel, and Larry, and great grandson Jesse.
Many thanks to our hospice angels Michelle, Kathy, Tricia, and Makayla who helped us through this journey more then they will ever know. We love and appreciate each of you. Thanks to Cleo for her care when we needed it the most, and special thanks Pastor Tim, and Pastor John.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, April 24, 014 at the Jordan Presbyterian Church, 3671 W Old Bingham Hwy with a viewing from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Interment with Military honors at Veterans Memorial Parkway. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Primary Children's Hospital Childhood Cancer Center. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.premierfuneral.com.
