1933 ~ 2012
Carl passed away Nov. 20, 2012 in Taylor, Texas at the home of his step-daughter Jackie Wood, where he has lived for the past three years. Carl is now free from the body that betrayed him. The battle is over and the pain is gone. He is now with loved ones gone before.
Carl was born March 5th 1933 in Heber City, Utah; he was the third child of Grace Jacobson and Angus Gibson. Married to Alice Robinson March 17, 1972 in San Jose California.
Carl has served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He held many jobs: logging in the High Uintas, drilling rigs, and lastly retiring from a large paper mill as a mechanic in San Jose, California.
Carl was loved by all the children; he was one himself. He was an avid rock hound and he made silver jewelry (bolo ties and clips, rings and western belt buckles). He enjoyed leather work and collecting belt buckles, which he shared with others.
He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by his wife Alice, sister Joan, and older brother Duane (Delores) Gibson.
Survived by two siblings: brother Eugene (Kae) Gibson, of Ogden UT; sister Pat (Donald) Dille, of Woods Cross, UT; many nieces and nephews. Also survived by children Jackie Woods of Texas, Richard Robinson of California, Nettie and Scott Rawson of Texas, Timothy Gibson and Annette of Utah, David Gibson of Utah, and numerous grand, great, and great -great grandchildren.
A special Thanks goes out to Jackie and her children in Texas, for taking such good care of Carl. They are Ronnee and Leslie, Briana, Brian, Tina also Randell and Noel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 N Main, Heber, UT. A Viewing will be held from 12:00 to 12:45 prior to the services. Burial at the Heber City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinhoopes.com
