Darrell W. Hakanson, 65, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on April 12, 2013.
He was born on September 20, 1947 to Kenneth and Verda Hakanson. He graduated from Granger High School and later went on to receive four Bachelor Degrees from The University of Utah. He joined the Army and proudly served in the Vietnam War. He was married to Vickie Brady Hakanson for 41 years.
Darrell is survived by his three daughters: Heather Ingram, Faith Nunley, Serena (Chris) Mitchell. His five grandchildren which were the light of his life: Wolf (17) Thorson (16) Gretchen (15) Heidi (12) Nunley, and Caleb Mitchell (4). We were all blessed to have the most selfless husband, father and grandfather in the world. He worked for Kennecott Copper for 14 years, the US Post office for 27 years as well as a chef for nine years, which brought the family to California. He was an amazing golfer and cook. He loved life and enriched the lives of everyone he knew. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.
