David Gordon Edgar, 59, of Boise, Idaho passed away on September 16, 2013 at home, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dave was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 13, 1954. Dave and his family lived in Boise, Idaho for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Dave loved his family, his church and his country. His passions included golfing, hunting and the outdoors. Most of all, Dave was a devoted Boise State University fan. Dave was a proud father and participated in coaching his boys in sporting activities and encouraging his daughter in pursuing her musical talents. Dave is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kelli Edgar, son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Stephanie Edgar, son Thomas Edgar, daughters Alissa Hepworth and Kasey Edgar, granddaughter Rachel Edgar and eight brother and sisters. Dave was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne Edgar and parents, Gordon and Joan Edgar.
Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 3700 South Maple Grove, Boise, Idaho. A viewing will be held from 6-8pm on September 23 at Reylea Funeral Chapel, 318 North Latah, Boise, Idaho. An additional viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, David's family is asking for donations to the David Gordon Edgar's Cancer Fund through PayPal- to assist in providing relief to the family of the medical bills and funeral expenses.
