1979 ~ 2013
David Michael Gannon passed away on April 27, 2013 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was born on February 14, 1979 to Michael and Patricia Gannon in Salt Lake City, Utah. His life was cut too short while serving our country. David joined the
in February 2011, as a member of the 82nd Airborne. He served in Afghanistan from March 2012 to August 2012. He graduated from West Jordan High School in 1997, and attended Southern Utah University. He found joy in his family, and always looked forward to being with them when he was on leave from the Army. He found joy in playing the guitar and sharing his talents with his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking, and making up new recipes, especially at Market Street Grill. He enjoyed the outdoors, which included biking, golfing, and hiking mountains with his father and brothers. He had a fantastic and sarcastic sense of humor that always kept his family and friends laughing. He was a great uncle and loved playing with his nieces and nephews. David had a big heart, and never thought twice when it came to helping those he loved. David was loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, our beloved son, brother and friend.
David is survived by his parents, his sisters Noelle, Jenny (Adam), and his brothers, Matt (Marie), Scott (Maritza), and Anthony. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Duke and Donna Gannon and George and Mabel Huntzinger.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4th, 12:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Rd with a gathering from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. prior to services.
