Dominic F. Erali, formally of Athol, Massachusetts, died peacefully on March 20, 2014 in Salt Lake City, UT surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on November 5, 1922 to Antimio and Francesca (Ferraia) Erali in Whitingham, VT. He graduated from Athol High School in Massachusetts, and married his high school sweetheart, Mary Smith, on November 26, 1942. Dominic served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Alnitah (AK127). He graduated from Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts, taught vocational education for 11 years at the New Salem Academy, and taught 17 years at Athol High School. Nick was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Athol American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Ellinwood Country Club, and the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association, as well as a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church. He moved with his wife to Salt Lake City, UT in 2005, where he continued to good-naturedly root for the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine, who died in 1947; an infant son, who died in 1948, as well as 6 sisters and 4 brothers. Nick is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary, of Salt Lake City, UT; his daughter, Maria Erali of Salt Lake City; son, Christopher Erali and his wife, Nancy of Jefferson, MA, and a sister Delina Gendron of Athol, MA. Papa Nick also leaves his two granddaughters and their spouses, Jessica and Mark Milazzo of Las Vegas, NV, and Natalie and Anthony Daigle of Ipswich, MA.

A prayer service will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014, 3:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah, with a visitation at 2:30 p.m. prior to service. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
