Edwin Marvin Hancock Obituary
Feb. 13, 1928~Aug. 19, 2014
Sandy, UT-Edwin Marvin Hancock, 86, peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 at his home in Sandy, Utah surrounded by his family. He was born on February 13, 1928 to Susan Woodbury Hancock and Ervin Arnold Hancock in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is survived by his ever loving wife Shirley Hancock of 48 years; 2 sons, Marvin Hancock (Kim) and David Hancock (Lori); Stepdaughter Trudy Fullmer (Randy); 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepdaughter Jolynn Tarro-Kitson.
Edwin served his country in the US Navy from 1945 to 1947. Edwin had a passion for fishing, his family, and serving his Heavenly Father. He was a very strong-willed person, sometimes stubborn even, but he was an extremely kind and loving man - especially to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will forever be in our hearts and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Edwin was a very generous man, he loved to help anytime he could. He was well known in the neighborhood for his willingness to help the local ladies run their errands, take them to their doctor appointments, and even pick them up for church - the best chauffer ever!
Friends and family are invited attend a viewing on Sunday, August 24th, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. in Sandy from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 17111 South Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale on Monday, August 25th 2014 at 11:00 am.
