Frank Falvo Obituary
1927 ~ 2012
Magna, UT-Frank Falvo passed away at his home in Magna, Utah on November 3, 2012, with his wife Mary by his side-as always. He and Mary Falcone were married December 16, 1950. He was a wonderful father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to so many. We all have great memories of our adventures with him. Frank was born July 9, 1927 in Salt Lake City. He grew up, raised his family and remained in Magna until his final days. He was an active member of his community. Frank attended Cyprus High School, the University of Utah and served as the student body president of LDS Business College. Following in the footsteps of his parents, Louis and Frances Falvo, who ran Falvo"s Grocery Store for many years, Frank and Mary opened Falvo Sporting Goods Store in 1953 on Magna Main Street. He enjoyed life and his easy going style made him a friend to all. He looked forward to a cup of coffee with his friends and Brother Mike before a day in the store. Frank served as the President of the Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce. He was one of the founders of Ute Conference Football, Commander of the American Legion, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, all in his beloved town of Magna. He served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Navy. Frank enjoyed skiing, trap shooting, fishing and bowling. He spent many happy days golfing at the Copper Golf Club, where he served as President and "self-appointed advisor". In 2001, he was the oldest person at that time, to be approved and successfully receive a stem cell replacement for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at Huntsman Cancer Institute, where he received excellent care. Frank is survived by his wife, (Mary); brother, Mike (Ellen); children, Louis Falvo (Debra), Tina Riehl (Gregg), Frank Falvo (Annette), Lisa Peckham-Falvo; grandchildren, Damion Lee, Melissa Greeno (Brad), John Riehll, Taylor Riehl, Jamie Falvo, Kelsey Falvo, Alexandra Peckham; and great granddaughter, Gabriella Lou Greeno. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pete Falvo; baby daughter, Frances; and son-in-law, Christopher Peckham.
Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2840 S. 9000 W.
