Gordon Jackson Andersen
1921-2013 In Loving Memory
Salt Lake City, UT-Gordon Jackson Andersen, son of Joseph Andersen (aka Glad) and, Dorothy Rachel Jackson, died May 6, 2013. He married Dorothy Elna Bird June 25, 1943. After her death he married Leora Claudina Oliver Johanson August 3, 1966. He was a graduate of South High School. He was a proud soldier and WWII veteran, serving in Light Artillery. He was part of the Normandy invasion, landing on Omaha Beach. Gordon loved family, camping, fishing, dancing, music, and chocolate. Gordon was a devout member of the L.D.S. church and fulfilled his many callings with exactness. He was a retired mail handler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Dorothy and Joseph, siblings; Richard, Wallace, and Lavoni, children; Stanley and Ellen. He is survived by his loving spouse Leora Claudina Oliver Johanson Andersen, daughter Verna (Mike) and son Leroy (Lori), seven grandchildren and Four great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Thursday May 9, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Friday May 10, 2013 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Both will be at the Bennion Ward located at 5980 South 1300 West Taylorsville, Utah.
