Grant A. Broderick Obituary
Grant A. Broderick
1925 ~ 2014
Grant Albert Broderick, our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 88.
Grant was born October 12, 1925 to Charles Spencer and Ingrid Nilsson Broderick in Salt Lake City. Grant's father died when he was nine so he always felt the need to work hard and help support their family. He served in the US Navy from 1944-46 after which he served an LDS mission to Sweden. He had a strong testimony of the Church and held many positions there. He married Diane Nye in the Logan Temple October 19, 1956 and they have lived in Taylorsville for many years. He was a conscientious worker and retired from Hercules, Inc. (Alliant Tech) in 1989. He liked to work with all kinds of tools and built three houses himself.
He is survived by his wife; daughters: Leslee (Dean) Monson and Krista (Robert) Baker; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; sister, Elizabeth Naumu, Honolulu, HI; brother, Heber (Mary Lou) Broderick, Tucson, AZ, all of whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Carli.
We will all miss his smile and his kindness to all of us!
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 5, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at the Logan City Cemetery, 1000 North 1200 East, Logan, UT. A viewing will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT.
