Joseph McQueen Jr., 79 of Sandy, Utah passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012.
Joseph was born in Gadsden County, Florida on October 12, 1933. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph McQueen Sr. and Lucile Jackson McQueen.
Joseph received his education in the public schools of Gadsden County. He served his country honorably as a member of the Armed Forces during the Korean War.
He was a resident of Miami, Florida over forty years and was united in Holy Matrimony to Loretha Knight on February 14, 1985 in Miami.
Survivors include Loretha McQueen his devoted wife of 28 years of Sandy, Utah; one step daughter, Elaine Buie (James) of Sandy, Utah, one brother, Jerry McQueen (Ruth) of Quincy, Florida; two sisters, Annie McQueen Holley of Tallahassee, Fl. and Cheryl Leonia English of Quincy, Fl.; two uncles, Sgt. Major Joe A. Jackson Jr. (Ruby) of Melbourne, Fl. retired and Herschel Lee Robinson of Quincy; one aunt Ester Ruth Alston of Hampton, Virginia; five nieces, June Holley, Dr. Dawn H. Dennis (Rupert), Barbara H. Johnson and Wanda McQueen Lewis (Silas) all of Tallahassee; five nephews; Elder James O. Holley Jr. (Robin) of Tallahassee, Ivy McQueen (Terella) of Atlanta, Georgia, Rudoph Holley (Wanda) of Auburn, Alabama, William English and Michael McQueen of Quincy, one step-grandson, John Fullwood of Acadia, FL.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmie Dale McQueen and his step-son Anthony Knight. He left many cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
