1923 ~ 2013
Salt Lake City -Juan F. Nielson passed peacefully early in the morning Sunday September 29, 2013, 10 days short of his 90th birthday.
Juan was born on October 9, 1923. His childhood was in Fairview, Utah, and even though he worked and raised his family in the Salt Lake area, his heart was always in Sanpete. Juan eventually moved back to live in Fairview.
Juan, along with his five brothers, served in the military. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and was active in both
World War 2
. Juan married Sharon Larue Gustin in 1947 and had three boys, Bruce, Gary (Heather), Ron (Stacy) and 5 grand children, Zack, Naomi, Audrey, Eva and Carter. Juan was an inventor, having patented many items. He was also an entrepreneur, having owned and operated many businesses. Juan was a sheet metal craftsman extraordinaire, always having a project going.
Juan is preceded in death by most of his old friends and all of his 10 siblings.
A viewing will be held Friday October 4, from 6-8 PM at the Senior Citizens Center, Fairview, Utah. Juan will be buried Saturday October 5, 11:00 at a grave side service in the Fairview Cemetery
The family would like to thank the outstanding staff at Canyon Creek Retirement Center and to all the wonderful people that worked with Juan from Hospice For Utah for the special care and concern they gave.
