Mary Bero Hearley died in Salt Lake City on Dec. 3, 2012. She was born July 20, 1921 in Salt Lake to Leonard Harry and Mary Dougherty Bero. Married James Michael Hearley, Sept 13, 1958 at St Joseph Catholic Church, Elko Nevada. Member St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Also member of St. Ambrose Altar Society and the Catholic's Women's League. Graduate of Judge Memorial High School. Attended St. Mary of the Wasatch. Member of Maynell Club. Survived by husband, James M Hearley, sons James M of Phoenix, AZ and John M of SLC, UT, sisters Sara B Shalvoy of Bridgeport, Conn, and Sue B (Butch) Smales Elko Nevada. Preceded in death by brothers John, Bill, and Bob. Mary was a kind, gentle, and loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to laugh and always looked forward to an Irish coffee on St Patrick's Day. She bravely faced the hardships of breast cancer the past few years without ever complaining. She will be dearly missed by all. Special thanks to all the wonderful past and present neighbors on Morgan Dr., the staff at Garden Terrace, and the staff of Haven Hospice especially Martina, her dear friend and hair dresser Jannelle Padilla, house cleaner/care giver Lori Winkler, and her sister-in-law, Ann Bero.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 S. 2300 E. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Ave & T St. Funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell & Sons.
