1957 ~ 2012
Michael H. Jensen, beloved son of Clayne and Elouise Jensen, passed away October 1, 2012 at the age of 55 after struggling with the consequences of prescribed medication.
Michael was born on August 17, 1957 in Logan, Utah, where he lived until the age of 6, at which time he moved with his parents and brothers to Provo, Utah where he lived for the remainder of his life.
He attended Wasatch Elementary School, and graduated from Provo High School in 1975, at which time he entered Brigham Young University and earned a bachelors degree in biology. Subsequently, Michael entered medical school at University of Utah and graduated with a doctorate degree. During his college years he took a break to serve a two year LDS Church mission in the Atlanta Georgia Mission. He practiced as medical doctor in the Provo and Salt Lake City areas for 28 years, until the time of his death.
Michael has three brothers, Craig (Jane), Blake (Kelly) and Chris (Georgiana). Their favorite activities were hiking, biking and fly fishing.
Mike was especially devoted to rock climbing and was also an excellent skier. At one point in Michael¹s life he owned an air plane and had a pilots license. He loved flying to many destinations. On one trip to Australia he joined the Doctors Without Boarders for a period of time.
He traveled extensively, including many countries in Western and Central Europe and extended trips to Burma, Laos, Thailand, India, Turkey and Argentina with his brother Chris.
For eleven years, Michael served voluntarily as the team doctor for the Special Olympics.
Michael was an outstanding athlete at Provo High School, particularly in football and track and field, where he was state champion. He was a defensive back on the BYU football team for four years.
He has many friends and professional associated along the Wasatch front and was a very dedicated and competent doctor.

Dr Jensen was a incredible Dr and respected collage. I am proud to have been one of his Director of Nursings for 15 years. Mike was a great Friend and Confidant always there with a ear and offering great advice. Life will be incomplete without him being a phone call away. Dear Bud and Eloise, Blake and Kelly, and the rest of the family, we feel the loss of Mike deeply and wish to express our love to you. Patrick has fond memories of Mike from his school years, and recently, Mike was helping me recover from Addison's Disease, and made a huge impact on my life. I was so touched by his gentle, Christ like caring, by his devotion to the disabled, and infirm. May God bless you all in the days, months, and years ahead. All our love, Patrick and Karey Shane

When I randomly read the obituary this morning of this young man, I felt touched to leave a message. As I read about him, I could "feel" of his tremendous spirit and the way he touched many lives. I read of the important things in his life, the things that have significance, value, and importance. So many thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time, and one day, one future day, in the eternities... we will all meet. I am so sorry for your loss.I would just also like to say, that I feel you are making a huge difference in the lives of others when you mentioned he lost his life the way he did. Often, when reading the obituaries, there is no cause of death mentioned. I believe that your mention of it is a help to other's suffering with the things Michael did. Maybe through your loss and pain it will prompt someone to get help, talk to someone, realize the severity of their problems, reach out to others. I want to thank you, because through your unselfishness, of sharing yourself this way, I believe you are touching lives, lives you don't even know you are reaching out to, randomly, and making a difference. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. If you would contact me, I have a poem I would like to share with you that will not fit here, and a story.

My heart aches for Mike. My heart aches for his family. May the passing days bring you peace.

Dear Jensen Family,
My heartfelt sympathies and condolences! This news comes as very hard information for me to digest. Mike and I, as you know, were the best of friends during our teenage years and the bond that we shared then has remained a tight one, despite the intervening years and miles. I am deeply saddened by his passing. If there was one quality, above all, that characterized Mike as I knew him, it was his inexhaustible generosity towards his fellow beings. From the brief overview of his life printed here, it sounds like that virtue continued to define him throughout his adult life. I am very proud to say I knew, admired, and loved him dearly.
