Nancy Sorenson Obituary
1922 ~ 2013
Nancy (Ann-Marie) Levine Sorenson passed away on Tuesday, November 26, of natural causes.
Nancy was born in New York City on October 18, 1922, and was raised by her loving parents, Philip and Bertha Grabower Levine, in Negaunee, Michigan. After graduating from Negaunee High School, she attended Lake Forest College and graduated from Northwestern University, where she was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
She married Dr. J. Keith Sorenson on February 19, 1945, in Evanston, Illinois. Keith passed away in 2002 after 58 great years together. In 1953 they moved to Salt Lake City, where they raised their three children - Jim (Marilyn), Ann (Cameron) Reid, and Jean (Jim) Mack. She was the ultimate Mom, and was always there for us. She loved volunteering as a Pink Lady at the University Hospital. And she was the best Granny to Lisa and Carly Sorenson, David and Steven Mack, Christopher Reid, and Allie Reid Barnett.
She loved being with her friends, golfing, skiing, playing bridge, reading, making chocolate chip cookies with her grandchildren, and more than anything, spending time with her family.
Memorial services for Nancy will be on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 11:30am, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Utah Food Bank or the Humane Society of Utah.
