Radene Holt Chapman Obituary
Radene Holt Chapman
Service Location Correction
Radene Holt Chapman slipped from this world into the loving arms of her mother Shirley on December 30, 2013 after a valiant and courageous fight with breast cancer. Raised in South Jordan, Utah, Radene was the first child of six born to Golden Ray Holt and Shirley Louise Bowen Holt. She attended nursing school at Ricks College, earning her BS degree from BYU and her MS degree from the University of Utah. A talented nurse, Radene was instrumental in establishing the first Respiratory ICU at LDS Hospital and integral in developing the Tandem Medical Informatics System, a nurse charting program still utilized today. She married Hal Chapman in 1980 and later welcomed two daughters, Kimberly and Christine into their home. They lived in many places including Boston, where she worked as an ICU head nurse at Beth Israel Hospital and then in the Center for Clinical Computing. Radene then served as the Director of Clinical Information Systems at Hospice-by-the-Bay in Mill Valley, California. She made friends easily and was a valued and loyal friend to many. Radene encouraged all of us to not only fight the fight, but to live your life. She is survived by her husband, Hal Chapman, of Mill Valley California; daughters Kimberly Chroninger (Anthony ) and Christine Chapman; grandchildren, Christopher Jordan "CJ" and Ryleigh Rae; siblings Sandra Nielsen (Roger), Suzanne Frandsen (Lloyd), Golden Holt (Dorene), David Holt and Shirley Ann Collins (Michael); father, Golden Ray Holt and preceded in death by her mother, Shirley.
Due to the recent death of our loving father Ray, a combined memorial service for both Radene and Dad will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 12:00 noon at the Riverton 1st Ward, 12998 South 1300 West. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and from 10:30-11:45 a.m. on Saturday morning at the same location.
