Robert S Lowen - Born September 20, 1915 in Denver, Colorado to Edna Stovall Lowen and Archer Hamilton Lowen, died peacefully September 13, 2013 in Seattle, Washington. Bob was raised in southern California. During the depression he had a paper route and worked at Ralph's Market as a bag boy to help his sister through college. He attended Pasadena City College earning a degree in accounting and then attended UCLA. While attending UCLA he worked at Citizens National Bank. He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. After the War he went back to work at Citizens Bank where he met his wife, Helen. They were married April 9, 1949, in Pasadena, California. In 1952 they moved to Salt Lake City where he worked for Skaggs Drugs until retirement.
After retirement, Helen and Bob spent their time between Salt Lake City, Indian Wells, California and Seattle, Washington. In 2005, they permanently moved to Seattle. He enjoyed boating both on Flaming Gorge and in the Puget Sound Area. He loved to build - from home remodeling projects to building model boats - which he built until he was 97.
Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Louse, wife, Helen and daughter, Sarah. He is survived by daughter, Maggie (Richard Madsen) Seattle; son, Tom (Shelley) Bend, Oregon; son, Steve, Scottsdale, Arizona, 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He will be buried at Mt. Olivet, Salt Lake City.
