Rodney Knight Day died on the 9th of May in 2012 of natural causes at his home with his family by his side. Rodney was born on the 25th of June 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rodney was the first born of three. He was raised in the Salt Lake City area and served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New England Mission. Rodney received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Utah and then entered the United States Army as an officer where he served a total of 28 years between active and reserves. Rodney was also employed with the Idaho Department of Labor and retired after 40 years of service. His first post after Officer's training was in Boise, Idaho where he met his wife Glenda Kay Rose. They were married on the 8th of June 1973 in the Salt Lake City Temple. The center point of Rodney's life has always been his family. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Day; brother, Craig Day; sister, Barbara Stoops; sons, Rodney Day Jr., David Day, Mark Day, and Anthony Day; and his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the LDS chapel located at 3200 Cassia St. in Boise, Idaho. A viewing will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Relyea Funeral Chapel and from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15th prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho. Condolences can be left at www.relyeafuneralchapel.com.
