1936 ~ 2013
Roland Clyde Arterburn returned to his Heavenly Father on December 20, 2013, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born September 17, 1936 to Norben and Iona (Burton) Arterburn in Hagerman, Idaho, Roland graduated from Jordan High School in 1955. He married Sylvia Martin October 23, 1959 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Roland graduated from Utah Technical and Westminster Colleges and worked faithfully as a technician for Bell Telephone for 25 years.
Roland served in the United States Navy (1955-1959) and another 19 years with the Utah Air National Guard (1975-1994) retiring as a Tech Sergeant, and was a member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was medalled for his service during Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
Roland was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and dedicated himself as a scoutmaster and bishopric counselor in the Midvale 6th Ward. He and Sylvia served as service missionaries in the Salt Lake City Substance Abuse Recovery Mission (1997-1999), in the Fleet Services Department at the Church Office Building (2005-2006), and as full-time missionaries in the Florida Orlando Mission (2003-2004).
Survived by his wife Sylvia; sons Craig and Martin (Peggy); daughters Colette (Frank), Rachelle (Doug), and Julie (Ray); brother Michael, sisters Hazel Lynn and Kay; 16 loving grandchildren, and one great-grand child. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.

A viewing will be held Thursday, December 26 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State St., Midvale. Funeral services will be Friday, December 27, 2013, 12:00 pm, at the Midvale LDS 8th Ward, 8350 South Jackson St., Midvale, with a viewing at 11:00 am. Interment at Redwood Memorial Estates, West Jordan.
