Thora Bergeson Watson Obituary
Thora Watson, age 103, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2013 with her son Rod at her side.
Born August 22, 1909 in Lewiston, Utah to Joseph and Medora Call Bergeson. Married Malcolm Wright Watson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 1, 1939. Malcolm passed away September 8, 1975. Thora attended schools in Cache County and attended the University of Utah, receiving a B.S. degree in Sociology and Speech and a Masters degree in Social Work. Thora was a school teacher after graduating from the U of U and later worked as a social worker at Travelers' Aid Society. Thora was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survived by sons Malcolm W. Watson II (Beth) of Wellesley, MA and Rodwell B. Watson (Joan) of Sandy, UT. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 31 great great grandchildren. She is survived by brothers Arnold Bergeson of San Diego, CA and Phil Bergeson of Layton, UT. Preceded in death by 9 siblings and her husband.
A viewing will be held on Friday March 8, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E South Temple. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 11:00 am at the Salt Lake Ensign Stake Center, 135 'A' Street with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment at the Ogden City Cemetery. Online condolences
