Wayne E. LeBaron
Dec 31,1931-March 7, 2013
After a courageous eight-year battle with cancer, Wayne E. LeBaron passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2013. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. He was born on December 31, 1931 in Santaquin, Utah to Lavina Greenhalgh and George Washington LeBaron. He was the youngest of seven children. After graduating from Payson High School, he attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and then De Forest's School in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the Signal Corps of the US Army during the Korean War. He married Shirlene Taylor in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 24, 1957, and they had five children.
Wayne worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for forty years; he established lifelong friendships while working on radar and related systems. In addition, he dedicated many years of service to the LDS Church-including time as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. Wayne and his wife Shirlene raised five children who cherish the precious years spent with a supportive, fun, and patient father.
He enjoyed camping, supporting family members in their diverse pursuits, spending time with his grandchildren, hiking, caring for his cars and yard, navigating Sudoku puzzles, rooting for the Utes and travel. Simple pleasures and family gatherings brought Wayne great happiness. He was a loving father who devoted his time and talents to providing a secure and happy life for his wife and children. He valued kindness, hard work and self discipline. He loved unconditionally and mastered the art of enjoying the moment. Wayne maintained his trademark courage and sense of humor to the end.
