1923 ~ 2014
Ivins, Utah-William John Jarvis, 90 passed away on February 23, 2014. Bill was born on December 17, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edwin Henry Jarvis and Julia May Emett. He attended West High School and later joined the Navy at 17 and was at Pearl Harbor when the attack happened. He was also at the Midway and serving on the USS Lexington when it was sunk. He continued serving in the Pacific until the end of WWII. Bill and Lorraine were married in 1945 in a civil ceremony and later he and his sweetheart were married in the temple. Bill re-listed in the Navy and was retired later. Bill was a dedicated family man. He loved his wife, children and his country. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and had a great love of animals. Bill and Lorraine had great adventures traveling around the world in their R.V. Bill is preceded in death by his wife of sixty years. Survived by his children; Carol A Bentley, William Glen Jarvis (Bobette) Claudia Payne (Mike) Paul Michael Jarvis (Lori).and 12 Grandchildren and numerous Grandchildren. Graveside Service will be held on Saturday March 1, 2014 at 11:00 am with Visitation starting at 10:00 am. Services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary. 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake Like City, Utah.
