MANCHA
SSG Ret Amado Mancha was joined with the Lord on December 14, 2013, at the age of 80. He was born in Thompson, Texas, on July 8, 1933. He retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years, during which time he served in Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam He earned numerous medals, including the Purple Heart, The Bronze Star, The Vietnam Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He worked at Kelly Air Force Base as a Pneudralics Mechanic, at the Lackland Air Force Base Exchange up until 2011. He is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Zulema Rincon Mancha; children, Joshua A. Diaz, Amanda R. Cervantes, Jessieca Diaz & Melinda Yanez (Ralph); 3 grandchildren; sister, Tina Castillo; brother, Jose P. Mancha; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at Castillo Mission Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2013, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Procession departs at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Catholic Church, Commerce & General McMullen Drive. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family is grateful to the Chemotherapy Department at Audie Murphy V. A. Hospital, to the radiation department at Wilford Hall Medical Center. Special thanks to Greg and Steve at Seasons Hospice. Services under the direction of Castillo Mission Funeral Home.
