Carolyn Jane Lankford Loizeaux, born 16 June 1932, went to be with her Lord & Savior on 7 July 2014 at the age of 82.

Born to Howard and Helen Lankford in Chambersburg Pennsylvania, Carolyn was the oldest of 5 children and is survived by Peter, her husband of 57 years; her children Suzanne Loizeaux-Witte, Andrew Loizeaux, Timothy Loizeaux and Rachel Lankford; grandchildren Kaitlyn, Blythe, Zoe, Lexi and Joon-Pierre; sisters Ann Harris and Rachael Crabb and brother Lowell Lankford.

A graduate of West Chester College in 1954 Carolyn taught music in the York County, Pennsylvania school system for three years before marrying her husband Peter Loizeaux in 1957 and moving to Georgia to teach in the Clarke County School System while Peter completed his education at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She accompanied her husband throughout 30 years of military service, living in Arizona, New York, Germany, Maryland, Korea, and Texas. Throughout her life Carolyn lived as a strong testimony to her Christian faith, establishing an InterVarsity Christian Fellowship program while a student at West Chester, playing the piano in chapel services, teaching in Sunday schools, hosting Bible studies for Officers Christian Fellowship. She was a Teaching Leader for Bible Study Fellowship in Washington D.C., trained missionaries for Christian Service Corps, taught students from Ewah and Seoul National Universities in Korea, and directed the Pregnancy Center in Laurel, Maryland.

Throughout her adult life Carolyn was motivated by her love of serving others. Her final years were ones of gradually progressing Alzheimer's disease.

A memorial service and reception will be held at First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio on Saturday, July 12, at 1:00 p.m.
