Clare Lawler Garison, daughter of Harry Thomas Lawler, Sr. and Clare Fryer Lawler was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 14, 1918. She died, at home, Saturday, December 1, 2012. Moving to San Antonio with her family in 1927, Clare was a graduate of Alamo Heights High School, attended the University of Texas where she was a Bluebonnet Belle representing her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. She graduated from Incarnate Word College. She taught elementary school in Castroville, Texas and worked for Braniff Airways. Clare met her husband, Lee, at the University of Texas and they were married on November 4, 1942. Clare was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, E. Lee Garison, infant daughter, Clare Lee Garison, her brother, Harry Thomas Lawler, Jr., her sister, Mary Louise Brendel, and son-in-law, Melvin Johnson. Clare is survived by her children, Mary Gail Johnson of San Antonio, Patricia Ann Thompson and husband, Bill of New Braunfels, Richard Lee Garison and wife, Martha of San Antonio, Timothy Patrick Garison and wife, Penny of Houston, Harry Thomas Townsend Garison and wife, Christine of Pleasanton. Grandchildren, Gregory James Busse, Stephen Lyle Johnson, James David Johnson, Ryan Anthony Eastlick, Patrick Lee Eastlick, Jennifer Marie McFarland, John Andrew Thompson, Hannah Elizabeth Garison, Bess Loch Garison, Jonathan Lee Garison, Annie Jean Prezas, Joshua Townsend Garison, Benjamin Thomas Garison; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Chapel on McCullough.
