RAMIREZ
Officer David A. Ramirez, Sr. SAPD, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at the age of 51. He was an avid outdoorsman whose passion for camping and fishing with his family and fishing buddies was complimented by his grill master skills. As a dedicated biking enthusiast, David regularly enjoyed the calming beauty of the Mission Trails along the river. An amateur meteorologist, his timely text alerts were welcomed as he warned us of approaching storm systems. His family meant the world to him and he let them know every chance he got to say "I love you" with a huge back-breaking bear hug. A Police Officer serving the City of San Antonio for the past 25 years, David's strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ helped him face the daily challenges of a public servant. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Reuben L. Salazar. He is survived by his wife, Lori Riffle-Ramirez; mother, Dolores Ramirez-Salazar; children, David, Jr., Nicolas, Kris, Lauren, Laci, Elizabeth, Jennifer and Jaclyn; Brother, Humberto "Herb" Ramirez (Cecilia); sister, Hope Cornwell (David); and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin Tuesday, September 24 at 12:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
