OFFICER DONALD L. WATSON

Officer Donald L. Watson, age 47, died on Monday, March 17, 2014 after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer. Donald was the youngest child of a military family that relocated to San Antonio when his father retired. He graduated from John Jay High School and was a Bexar County Deputy Sheriff from 1989-1993. Donald joined the San Antonio Police Department from 1993 to the present and worked on the South Patrol Division and DWI Traffic Unit. He was an avid fisherman and licensed Captain who owned and operated Watson's Guide Service every summer in Rockport, TX. Donald was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a dedicated police officer who loved working the streets. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Watson, Sr. and his sister, Paula Melton. Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Christina P. Watson; five children: Danielle Insall, Jacob Ray Cura-Watson, Victoria Watson, Katherine Watson and Donald Levonne Watson III; step-sons: Christian Rios, Jacob Rios and granddaughter, Adelaide; his mother, Rose I. Watson and sisters: Susan Watson-Moncada and husband, David; Lillie O'Quinn and husband, Patrick, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Donald had a joyful spirit that will be deeply missed, we will hold his memory in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
