Donna Johnson Obituary
Donna Jean Johnson loved her family, her animals and enjoyed life. She passed away on March 27, 2014 at her home with her husband by her side.
Donna was born on January 1, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas to Joanne & D.V. White II and grew up in Hollywood Park. She attended Churchill High School and earned a BA in Criminal Justice from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1981. In 1984 she married Kurt Johnson of San Antonio at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
Donna worked with the same boss since college, often joking that she was sold along with the furniture through several acquisitions.
She was a long time member of the Girl Scouts both as a girl and an adult volunteer, and a member of the Helotes Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary for 5 years.
She and Kurt wandered the back roads of Texas and the country on working trips with the Intertie, Inc. Radio Club and for car club rallies, and both loved to travel. Donna was an avid reader and loved caring for their animals, which have included dogs, birds, guinea pigs and chinchillas.
Donna is survived by husband Kurt, mother Joanne White Lynch (Kerrville), siblings and spouses Dede & Gary Ackerman (Henderson, NV) & Trey & Patricia White (Cypress), 2 nieces and 4 nephews, and "adopted" family Jean & Chuck Jones (San Antonio) and their 3 daughters.
Services will be Friday April 4 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church at 7pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to the San Antonio Animal Defense League or Humane Society.
