Edward Castillo Jr. born in Floresville, Texas, February 1, 1926 went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2013 at the age of 87, after a 2 1/2 year battle with kidney cancer. He was a long time resident of San Antonio, Texas and a World War II Purple Heart Navy Veteran, Retired from Defense Mapping Agency Hydrographic/Topographic center in Fort Sam Houston in S.A. Also is a life time member of VFW Post 837. He will never be forgotten and will be missed by many friends and especially family, leaving his wife Enedina of 66 years and 6 children Cherry and Ron Biegay, Edward III and Brenda, David (deceased), Andrew and Maria, Mary, and Joann and numerous grandchildren and great great grandchildren and brother John Brown. He not only was an excellent father to his own children, but to others he coached. When he spoke everyone had to listen, but when we needed an ear and advice he would give it. He was that gentle soul and never judged or spoke ill of anyone.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South from 4PM to 9PM with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7PM. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South at 9:30AM, followed by interment in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
