Major Edward R. Ketterer, US Army, Ret.
Major Ketterer entered into everlasting peace on Monday, November 11, 2013.
Major Ketterer was born to Edward and Julia Ketterer on September 5th, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA. His son, Dr. Edward J. Ketterer, and his wife, Joan M. Ketterer, preceded him in death. For the love of his country, Major Ketterer served during WWII, The Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict twice. He received the Bronze Star, and various other accommodations for service in the U.S. Army for 25 years. His daughter, Julie Daniels and husband Michael; five grandchildren, David Bruchmiller and his wife Yuri; Jennifer Bruchmiller; Smith Ketterer; Davis Ketterer; and Alexa Ketterer; 6 great-grandchildren Josh Bruchmiller, Garrett Bruchmiller, Juliet Palos, Tony Palos, Isabella Bruchmiller, and Michael Edward Bruchmiller survive him. He has three surviving brothers, John Ketterer of Pennsylvania, Ronald Ketterer of Texas, and Kenneth Ketterer of Florida. Also his many friends at Patriot Heights Retirement Community.
All who knew him will miss Major Ketterer. Even during his last days, he had a smile on his face and a joke in his heart. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations should go to either the
. Visitation will be from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. A Graveside Service will begin at 9:30 AM on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
