Edward Santos Sr, age 90 of San Antonio, died peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Monday, May 19, 2014. Edward was born on March 19, 1924 in La Vernia, TX. He was a proud, retired veteran of the US Army and US Air Force serving his country from 1943 to 1984 through World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War. Edward married Sarah Elizondo on June 16, 1947. He and Sarah were married 67 years and raised three wonderful children. Edward is survived by his wife, Sarah, his daughter Linda Juarez, two sons Edward Jr. and Bobby Santos, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive visitors and friends on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Rosary will be held immediately at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. A mass will be officiated by Father Anthony at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 8134 Blanco Road, San Antonio, Texas 78216. Burial services will follow at 11:15 a.m. at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
