Emil A. Snoga born on December 7, 1929 to Gertrude and Peter Snoga Sr., in Groom, TX went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2013 at the age of 84. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lucy Pechacek. He served in the US Navy on the USS Piedmont AD-17, with his brother, Bennie Snoga. They were on the ship together from 1951 to 1952, later both brothers would be Navy Seabee's. Emil was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church and Holy Name Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4315, VFW, American Legion, USS Piedmont AD-17, and Navy Seabee Veteran and in the US Navy Reserve. He is survived by his sisters Sally Skloss, Gladys Snoga, Mary McDonald; brothers Alvin Snoga, Bennie Snoga and wife Pat, Peter Snoga Jr. and wife Kathy; 26 nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Village of Incarnate Word and their Staff for all the care that was given to Emil.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church on Monday, January 6, 2014 followed by a funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Panna Maria, TX. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Holy Name Catholic Church Building fund in his name.
