Emma K. Scheitle passed away on 21 April 2014 at Emeritus at Kingsley Place, San Antonio, TX. She was born on April 4, 1937 in Pierre, SD to Edwin and Marion Smith Keasler. Emma grew up in San Antonio, TX and graduated from Jefferson High School. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a degree in Education. There, she was a member of the 1955 cheerleading squad that introduced the "hook 'em Horns" sign. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Emma started her working life as a Physical Education teacher at Alamo Heights High School after which she moved to medical billing consulting. That led to assignments at doctor's offices and then a corporate position at Methodist Hospital. She then joined Medical Present Value, a start-up which was developing software to improve billing recoveries for medical specialists. That company is now part of Experian. Unfortunately, Alzheimer's brought an early end to her work. Fortunately, it did not change her happy outlook on life and sense of adventure. She was always ready for a next adventure and we had the time to travel extensively. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Marion Keasler and son Richard (Rick) Reynolds. She is survived by daughter, Lynn Reynolds and husband Fielding Dunlap of Lewisville, TX. They are the parents of Reece and Drake Dunlap. Emma married Joseph K. Scheitle, Jr. in 1992 in San Antonio, TX. She is survived by Joe and his children Ian and wife, Laura (Carbaugh) Scheitle of Waverly, NE and their children, Matt Scheitle and Erica Scheitle; Laura (Scheitle) Leighner and husband, Bill of San Antonio, TX and their children, Lt. Andrew Leighner and daughter, Hannah Leighner; and Paula (Scheitle) Hemmingsen and Brian Clark of Papillon, NE and daughter Tatum Hemmingsen and daughter McKenzie Clark. Emma's ashes will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. A celebration of her life is being planned for May. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the
