Lea Ann Champion died Oct. 1, 2012, after a long and courageous fight with breast cancer. She is survived by husband Lynwood; daughters Morgan and Maddy; mother Polly Pruitt; siblings Keith Rushing, Pam Rushing and Lisa Rushing; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Billy Joe Rushing; stepfather Franklin Delano Pruitt; and stepbrother Michael Pruitt.
Born in Ardmore, OK on Aug. 29, 1958, Lea Ann grew up in Madill, OK and attended Oklahoma's East Central University, where she graduated in 1980 with honors with a degree in business. She met Lynwood Champion in Oklahoma City in 1981, and they married on Sept. 24, 1983.
Lea Ann was a woman of enormous faith. She supported her community, family, and had a generous and giving spirit. Her greatest joy was to be called daughter, sister, wife, and mom.
Lea Ann embraced life to its fullest. She had an impact on everyone she touched. She had a strong spirit, bright smile, and infectious laugh. Lea Ann was a tremendous leader for AT&T, and blazed trails for other women leaders in the business world. She had a long and successful career with AT&T and its predecessor companies, before retiring in March 2012.
Visitation will be Thurs., Oct. 4, 2012, at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. Funeral Services will be Fri., Oct. 5, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Boerne at 11 AM with interment following at Boerne Cemetery.
