Lois Hull Obituary
LOIS FARNSWORTH KIRKPATRICK HULL, 87, of Canyon, died May 17, 2014 in Amarillo.

Memorial Celebration of Life will be at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, Canyon, Texas with Pastor Andy Blair officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.

Private graveside services were held as Mrs. Hull was interred next to her husband, Truett G.Hull, Jr., in Dreamland Cemetery.

Lois K. Hull passed away on May 17, 2014 while peacefully listening to opera. She was born to Oran Gould Kirkpatrick and Lois Farnsworth Kirkpatrick in San Antonio, Texas, September 22, 1926. She attended First Presbyterian Church and graduated from Jefferson High School.
Lois graduated from the University of Texas, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. It was at the University that Lois met the love of her life, Truett Gibson Hull, Jr., of Amarillo, Texas. They married February 5, 1949, and lived in Amarillo and Canyon with their family. In 1959, the family lived in Austin while Truett earned his law degree, and then returned to Canyon.
Truett died September 10, 1964. Canyon was home, so Lois remained there to raise her four children. She was grateful for the support of the whole community during this time.
Lois was a homemaker and mother, and a lifelong contributor to many groups in the community. She was an elder at First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the choir. She understood Barrow's quote about a life of books. Learning was important to her and she supported the Canyon Area Library and the Fine Arts Department at WTAMU throughout her life. Her donations helped to create the James Kimmerling Design Studio and the Jerry Williams Acting Studio, as well as the Margaret and Bill Moore Green room in the Branding Iron Theatre. She supported the symphony, ballet, and the opera in Texas, New Mexico, and New York, and enjoyed the vocal artistry of Susan Graham, an opera star from New Mexico and Texas.
Lois was also a supporter of the Panhandle Heritage Foundation for many years. She acted and sang in the musical drama TEXAS as Aunt Anna, which gave her great joy.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Oran and Lois, and her husband, Truett.

Survivors include her four children, son Andrew O. Hull and wife, Melody, son Christopher K. Hull and wife, Karen, daughter Susan H. Allen and husband, Jimmy, son Jonathan H. Hull and wife, Terry; grandchildren Madeline Hull, Oran Hull, Rebecca Hull, Rachel Hull, Patrick Hull, Christopher Hull and wife, Caroline, Sterling Allen and wife, Kathryn, Cameron Allen and wife, Yvonne, Hillary Hull and Charlotte Hull; great granddaughters Fiona R. Hull, Maeve G. Hull, and Emma L. Allen; two brothers, Oran G. Kirkpatrick and wife, Maureen, and John O. Kirkpatrick; nephews and nieces; and grandnephews and grandnieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the patients of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, in care of Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, 1600 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, Texas 79106 or Southwest Friends of Art.
