Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Harp Morawietz, age 93, of Castroville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 10, 2013 in San Antonio. Liz was born May 9, 1920 in Hobson,TX to the late Louis William Harp and Emma Pape Harp. On April 14, 1941 she married Alois Joseph "Sweet Pea" Morawietz in Hobson. He passed away in 1987 after 46 years of marriage together. Liz was very active in her community. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Ann's Society, American Legion Post 460 Ladies Auxillary, VFW Post 8134 Ladies Auxillary, and Women of the Moose. She was an aircraft mechanic supervisor at Kelly AFB before her retirement in 1974 after 35 years of service. Liz was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughters, Doris (Jim) Crouell of Smiley, Reta (Mike) Garza of Adkins, Bibi (Roy) Cates of Mountain Home, Trinket (B.J.) Milward of Castroville, Donna (John) Camacho of Castroville; son, Doug (Josy) Morawietz of Austin; grandchildren, Jeff (Kathy) Crouell, Leroy (Kathy) Crouell, Shane (Laurel) Morawietz, Carri Morawietz, Christine (Dave) Petr, Marc (Deborah) Stanush, Scott (Sheri) Stanush, Tina (Mike) Zambrana, Rita (Scott) Barry, Angela (Ronnie) Cates, Scott Cates, Charlie (Christine) Tschirhart, Kris (Joe) Fowler, Kim (Mike) Myrick, Blain (Whitney) Schueling, Christy Camacho, Dawn (Quinn) Booth, Ashley Camacho, John Camacho III, and 30 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. followed by the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
