BIPPERT
Melvin Adolph Bippert, age 83, of San Antonio, passed away Mar. 1, 2013 in San Antonio. Melvin was born Apr. 17, 1929 in San Antonio, to the late Clarence C., Sr. and Martha Wurzbach Bippert. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1946 he served in the Army as a Military Policeman. He completed his tour of duty in the military and started working in the oil field business. He also was a farmer and was the Founder of Lone Star Radiator Company. A favorite hobby of his was making homemade wine. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Nelson Bippert, and Clarence C. Bippert, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Eloise Tschirhart Bippert of San Antonio; sons and daughters-in-law, Daryl and Suzan Bippert of San Antonio, David and Lisa Bippert of Rio Medina; grandsons, Colt, Travis, Eric and Joshua; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Jacquelyn Bippert of Rio Medina, Bill and Frances Bippert of Castroville, and Bob Bippert of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Gaye Bippert Belcher and husband Donald of Castroville; numerous nieces and nephews. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Tuesday, Mar. 5, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 16801 Huebner Rd., San Antonio. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Concordia Lutheran School. Visit www.tondre-guinn.com
