Michael Redgrave Obituary
Roger Michael Redgrave, "Michael" as he was known, age 64, peacefully departed this earth in his sleep on February 7, 2014, and escaped the wrath of brain cancer that developed in August 2013. Michael was born on December 21, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas, to Constance Joy Goff and Charles Avery Redgrave, Sr. He was the youngest of three boys and was predeceased 3 weeks ago by his big brother, Charles Avery Redgrave, Jr. leaving behind Robert Goff Redgrave. He attended Mount Sacred Catholic School for boys, Central Catholic High School, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He attended The University of Texas at Austin as a Fine Arts Major. Michael was a gifted artist with all mediums. Michael was an observer; quiet, shy, reserved, articulate, and a deep thinker. He was a deeply caring individual. He was not one to ever say "no" to lending a hand and helping out a friend. Like others in the Redgrave family, his mind was filled with minute detailed facts. He loved collecting cool, eclectic, and unusual stuff. He leaves behind Cindy Jo Horner, his longtime dear friend of more than 20+ years and The Horner family. He leaves behind his niece and caretaker, Joy Allison Redgrave-LaField, her husband and 3 children and his brother Charles' companion, Susan Weiner Cook who has been a constant fixture at his bedside. He leaves behind a host of long time friends and his coworkers at Harland Clarke. Michael wished to thank everyone at Pipestone Place for the fantastic meals and heartfelt care he received in his final weeks, and also thank Odyssey Hospice Nurse Joann who was his angel. Following his big brothers lead, he put up a good fight against cancer for 5 ½ months, endured daily radiation and chemotherapy treatments, but when those failed to slow the tumors growth, he resolved himself to being reunited with his brother Charles. As per his wishes, he will have a Green Burial and graveside service at Countryside Memorial Park, 331 Cemetery Lane, Lavernia Texas 78121, on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00a.m. Services under the direction of FuneralCaring USA.
