Oscar Moreno Obituary
MORENO
Oscar Figueroa Moreno, 91, died Sunday morning, May 4th, 2014, peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born July 6, 1922 in Corpus Christi, TX, to Cordulo and Anna Maria Figueroa Moreno who preceded him in death along with brothers Valmore, Baldemar, Lee, Oswaldo and Alamar Moreno; sisters Zulema Tamez and Lydia Trujillo; daughter Maria Angelina and Baby boy Moreno and his beloved wife of 56 years, Aurora Poses Moreno. He is survived by his daughters Maria Teresa Moreno (Mario) and Linda Moreno Dickerson (Jim); grandchildren Ann Marie, Stephanie Lynn, Mario Oscar Moreno, David Brian Alder (Michelle) and Charlie Dickerson; great-grandchildren Mark Jason Moreno, Abby, Daniel, Susanna and Jonathan Alder; numerous and beloved nieces, nephews and godchildren. He served in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean War, both with honor and respect. He won countless decorations and citations too numerous to mention. In all aspects of his life, his faith and his love of the Lord Jesus Christ never waivered. After retirement he dedicated much of his time to the San Martin de Porres community through the Holy Name Society with the same honor and dedication he gave to his family and his country. We would like to give a special thanks to the staffs of Dr. Robert Krueger, Wilford Hall Clinic; Grace Place and Christus VNA, for the loving care and comfort given to us and to our Dad in the last years of his life. He will be greatly missed but will always be remembered by many as "one of the good guys", "my favorite Uncle", "best Padrino", "best Ampy/Grandpa" in the world. But, most importantly, the Lord blessed us with the best father two girls could ever have. We love you, Daddy!
