CASSITY
Mrs. Patricia Ann Cassity, wife of the late Lt. Gen. James S Cassity Jr, entered into rest on Saturday March 8, 2014. Patricia was born May 31, 1938, in Paris, Texas, and the daughter of Lewis and Hettie Smith of Paris, Texas. Patricia graduated from Paris High School in1956. She attended Paris Junior College and graduated from TWU in Denton in 1959 and received her Master's from Wright State University in 1972. .
She was a school teacher in Texas, Florida, Ohio, and the Panama Canal Zone. She also taught English 'as a second language' at Hanscom AFB in MA and was a docent at Art Museums in Oklahoma City, Colorado Springs, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Boerne, Texas. Patricia was a very caring, loving, person especially to those less fortunate. She is survived by her son Marcus A. Cassity of San Antonio and daughter Judith Fitz and her husband Jim Fitz of Atlanta, Georgia, and their children Eric and Elena. Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, March 17th at 11:30 am and burial at Fort Sam Houston at 1:45pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Gideon's International, San Antonio North West Camp NO 4223.5.
