Philip Putsche Obituary
February 5, 1941 -
August 16, 2013

Philip Putsche was embraced by a merciful Lord on Friday, August 16, 2013 at his home in San Antonio. He was born February 5th, 1941 in Tulsa, Ok., but the family relocated to San Antonio in 1955. As a 1959 graduate of MacArthur High school, he shined as a trumpet player in the varsity band, and was also co-captain of the basketball team. Upon graduation from the University of Texas in 1963 with a degree in Advertising and Marketing Research, he began a successful professional career (his love of the English language and extremely quick wit made him a natural), and he was also a fixture on the local music scene as a jazz trumpet player for many years. Another of Philip's passions was fishing. His early years were spent fishing many bass tournaments, and over the last decade he had developed a love for coast fishing with family and friends. But Philip's true passions were his sobriety - and serving those in need. He was constantly "looking for someone who was looking" - then would make himself available to them - always with a servant's heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lorene. Philip is survived by his wife, Hannah; sister Charlene McCullough and husband Ron of Tulsa; sister Marilyn McMillan and husband Howard (Mac) of Boerne; son Curt and wife Robin (grandchildren Ayden, Carsyn) of Celina; son Brian and wife Catherine (grandchildren Alison, Madeline); neices Karen, Cheryl, nephew Mike (and their respective families) of Tulsa; nephew Vance Fairchild and family of Angleton, nephew Garret Fairchild and family of Tomball; as well as numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
3:00 P.M.

Father Jim Haynes will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Club 12, Haven for Hope, or a .
