He was assistant conductor to Victor Alessandro with the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra. He has concertized in all of the Americas and has taught in several institutes of higher learning including Texas Lutheran College. Mr. de Castro has composed several works in the larger musical forms including a Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, a Concert Overture, a Violin and Piano Sonata and several solos for different instruments. His compositions have brought much happiness to listeners of his music and his students remember him as a dedicated teacher who loved life.
