In memory of Roxanna Diane Ruiz-Felter

Born on April 13, 1976 to Demetrio and Sylvia Ruiz in San Antonio, Texas passed from this life to join our Lord Jesus Christ in heaven on November 14. She is survived by her husband Daniel Felter, her precious daughter Eliana, brothers Robert Demetrio (Patricia), Rene D., Ricardo (Maureen) and parents.

Roxanna grew up in San Antonio attending St Martin Hall and St. Luke's Catholic Schools. She graduated from Incarnate Word High School in 1994,Texas A &M where she majored in Psychology, and obtained a Masters Degree from The University of Texas in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After graduating from UT she began her career as a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist for the Richardson Independent School District. She worked tirelessly to seek out and correct any injustices that might lead to the detriment of a child. She Always showed great concern for her students and enjoyed mentoring her new Pathologists.

As Co-Chair of the CLD task force for the Texas Speech and Hearing Association, she helped develop an Eligibility Manual for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students. This manual will be used statewide as a template for all school districts

She was currently working on her Ph.D, lacking only her dissertation , when her baby Eliana Marie was born. Her happiness after the birth of her daughter soon turned into sadness after being diagnosed with cancer. She put on a courageous battle with the disease with an amazing amount of strength and grace. Her beautiful smile will be missed.
