Vivian A. Tracy
Vivian Ardice Tracy was born on November 13, 1926 in Guadalupe County, Texas, the daughter of T.P. and Thelma Appleby. She died peacefully on August 16, 2013 at age 86. Vivian was known as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose radiant smile lit up every room she entered. Her cheerful willingness to talk with anyone made her loved by everyone. Vivian was a 1944 graduate of Brackenridge High School, and a 1946 graduate of San Antonio College. She went on to the University of Texas in Austin to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics in 1949. While there, she was initiated into the Alpha Chi Omega fraternity in 1948. On October 15, 1949, Vivian married Earl W. Tracy, Jr., and raised their two children while serving as a volunteer with the Methodist Hospital Blue Bird organization. She also participated as an active member of the Cosmopolitan Club. Vivian will always be remembered for her love of animals, her kindness, her beauty, and her grace. Vivian is survived by her husband, Earl Tracy, Jr.; daughter, Joan Tracy-Sotoodeh-Huff and grandson, Rami Drew Sotoodeh of Tampa, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Ty and Shari Tracy, grandson Seth, and granddaughter Claire, all of San Antonio; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Yvette Warnecke of New Braunfels; brother, Tom Appleby of Houston.
