Waylan "Stacy" Wallis Jr. passed away August 13th, 2013. He was born on August 1st, 1958 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Stacy attended King High School class of 1976. He married Linda Jane Peterson in December, 1977. After enlisting in the Air Force September, 1977 he spent the next 22 years serving our country with tours of duty in; Sembach, Germany, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida; Comiso, Sicily; Bitburg, Germany, and Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. While in the Air Force he served as a security police, communications and computer systems specialist and electronics specialist. After retiring in June 1999, he worked as Network Security Engineer for General Dynamics. Stacy received his baccalaureate of Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University. Stacy had an uncompromisingly giving spirit and spent many years coaching youth soccer, volunteering as a mentor for children in need, and helping scores of friends, family, and neighbors with any and every need they had. He had a reputation for never knowing a stranger and having a knack for bringing joy and comfort into every interaction. He is survived by his wife Linda Wallis, son Aaron Wallis, brother John Wallis and mother Nancy Wallis. He was preceded in death by his father Waylan Wallis Sr. Services will be held on August 22nd at 10:30am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery: 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio, TX 78209 (210) 820-3891.
